This notice provides information about what personal information we collect and how we use that information. We value your privacy, and we only collect personally identifiable information that you provide to us so that we can provide the information or service you request.

Email Addresses

If you choose to sign up for one of our newsletters, we collect your email address and optionally your name. We use this information only to send you the email newsletters you signed up for. We do not sell, share, or use your email address, or any other personal information we collect, for any other reason, unless required to do so by law.

If we receive your email address because you gave us your business card or signed up for a webinar or other event, we may send you a message inviting you to opt-in to our newsletters. Our invitations are one-time, opt-in invitations. If you are interested, you can sign up, if not (or if you ignore the invitation), we will not send you any further messages.

Purchase information

If you purchase a product from us, we collect your name and email address (and your street address for physical shipments) so that we can send you information about updates to the product you purchased. Unless you opt in, we do not add you to our newsletter mailing list. We do not sell, share, or use your address, email address, or any other personal information we collect, for any other reason, unless required to do so by law.

Any additional information related to purchases on this site is handled entirely by our payment partners. At no time does XML Press have access to any credit card or other payment information you provide to our payment partners when you purchase a product on this site.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Our mailing list sign up conforms with the GDPR, and we have done our best to purge our mailing list of addresses that have not been positively confirmed in accordance with the GDPR.

That said, there was a short period after the GDPR come into effect where our sign-up process did not have an email confirmation. During that period, it is possible that some email addresses were added by people other than the actual address owner. If you receive email from us, and you didn’t sign up, please use the unsubscribe link, and you will not receive any further messages from us.

Google Analytics

We have disabled Google Analytics on this site

Our previous use of Google Analytics was in accordance with Google’s privacy policies that were in effect at the time, but we decided that the limited value we received from the service did not outweigh the reduced privacy for our customers and readers.
